Skateboard Clothing

Skateboarding became a popular sport beginning in the 1950's. It became well known because of its similarity to surfing at the beach. Now, skateboarding is becoming a popular sport, especially among youth, that is growing and thriving every year. Along with the growth of skateboarding tricks and trends has also provoked the growth of skateboarding clothing styles.

Recent Fashions
1. T-Shirts – Most skaters t-shirts will have some type of logo on them. They also will either be no sleeve or very short sleeved. There are both girls and boys fashions for skating t-shirts.
2. Hoodies – Hoodies are the jackets of the skaters, with many styles to choose from.
3. Shoes – There are a variety of shoes in style from low to high cut, and slip-ons to shoes that are tied. Most of the shoes will have a flat sole for the best skating capacity. Finding the right shoes is one of the most important part of the skateboarding scene.
4. Beanies – These are the more popular type of hat worn with skateboard clothing. They are shaped for one-size fits all.
5. Pants – The skating style for pants is either jeans, or khaki shorts and pants. Most skater pants will be loose fit, making it easier to do jumps, etc. while on the board.
Finding Quality Clothing
There are a few things to take into consideration when finding good skateboarding clothing. The first is to find pants that have double layered knees, strong stitching, and a thick material. These all help when practicing the skateboarding moves. The pants are also better when they are slightly looser, in order to give the skateboarder more room to move around. The second is to find the proper shoes. They are best with a double stitched toe cap, larger tongue, heel padding, and a sole that will grip. It's also better if the shoe is lighter, which will make it easier to maneuver. The hoodies and the beanies should be a thicker material in order to keep warmth in.

The styles and trends that are happening in the skateboard scene are not only for style, but also for comfort and becoming more efficient on the board.
